Rob is primarily a bass player in Columbus, Ohio. He has over 35 years of experience in the studio, live, and teaching in almost every genre. He also plays guitar, keyboards, and whatever instrument he gets his hands on as well as sings background vocals (in the bass range of course).

There are 10 songs in that player on the bottom left from 3 different bands that Rob played bass on. He also played guitar and background vocals on a few of them as well.

Teaching

Rob has been teaching bass since about 1990 and continues to do so today. He believes that a good foundation of music theory is vital to the role of a bassist, whether as a beginner or a working professional. Starting right from the beginning, it is part of learning all about the role of a bassist.

Equipment with links

Rob plays fretted and fretless 4, 5, or 6 string basses by NS Design, Muckelroy, Warwick, and Ernie Ball Music Man. All strings are by DR strings. Straps are Revo Guitar Straps. Picks are Acoustik Attak. Cables are Pig Hog cables.  He uses Trace Elliot amplifiers and cabinets as well as Ashdown amplifiers. He also does most of his own maintenance, repairs and set ups of all of his instruments (and a few friends as well) courtesy of Music Nomad tools.

Guitar gear includes just about every style of electrics, acoustic, and nylon strings primarily played through a Boss Katana

His pedalboard for guitar or bass includes Source Audio, Line 6, and Morningstar Engineering and can create any sound that's needed as well as amp and cab simulations.

Keyboard gear includes a Roland Juno88 and a Novation Bass Station. He also has a Keith McMillan 12 Step so many keys parts can be played with his feet while playing other instruments
